About the Books

Currently (there are more on the way) Melinda has authored three children’s books based on her observations from nature, told in parable form.  The books, “We Are Whoooo We Are,” “The Day the Snapdragons Snapped Back,” and “Fraidy Cat” have won a total of six national awards.  Whoooo and Fraidy have received the gold Mom’s Choice Awards; Snap is the winner of a silver Mom’s Choice Award; in the USA Book Awards categories, the three books received a Finalist for Best Children’s Series, while Fraidy Cat was awarded Finalist in two additional categories:  Best in Children’s Educational and Best in Children’s Mind/Body/Spirit USA Book Awards.

Melinda Chambers

As a wife, mother of two and grandmother of five, Melinda Spiker Chambers has been able to incorporate her various life experiences and observations into children’s books.  A storyteller at heart, her aim has been to pass down her bits of wisdom to the next generation, although her books can be applied to “children of all ages.”
